PayoutRange Privacy Policy
Effective November 6, 2026.
Summary
No account, no sign-in. Your holdings, transactions, cost basis, and settings stay on your device. No ads, no analytics, no sale or sharing of data. Ticker symbols, and the words of a ticker search, are sent to a market data company to look up prices and dividends, and you can switch that off. Payments are handled by Apple. If you report an issue, you send the email yourself, from your own Mail.
What PayoutRange collects
Nothing is collected by the developer automatically. Market data requests pass through a small relay the developer runs on Cloudflare, described under Market data. It stores nothing and keeps no logs. The developer receives only an email you choose to send, as described under Report an issue.
What leaves your device
Three things. Ticker symbols and ticker searches, to fetch market data, as described under Market data. The purchase check described under Purchases. A problem report, only if you send it yourself, as described under Report an issue. Nothing else: the app never sends your holdings, share counts, values, cost basis, accounts, or recorded dividends anywhere.
Market data
When Settings > Market data is set to Live prices and dividends, PayoutRange asks Tiingo, an outside market data company, for the prices and dividend history of the tickers in your portfolio and watchlist, and, when you open Performance, of the ticker you compare with there: one of the index funds it lists or, with Pro, a ticker you type. It also uses Tiingo's search to find a ticker: what you type into the ticker search when adding a holding or a watchlist ticker (a symbol or a company name, and shorter forms of it such as its first word), and a company name read from a screenshot you import, to find a ticker the screenshot does not show or to check one it shows. Each request carries the ticker symbol or those search words in the web address and the app's own key for the relay. The relay checks that key, briefly uses your network's IP address to limit abuse, adds the developer's Tiingo key, and passes on only the ticker or search words. Tiingo does not receive your IP address or the header described below. Like any request over the internet, it also carries your network's IP address and a standard header giving the app's name and version number and the versions of Apple's networking software and operating system. It carries nothing else: no share count, no value, no cost, no account, no device or advertising identifier, and no name or email. No account with Tiingo is created for you, and Tiingo is not told who you are. What comes back is the price, dividend history and dates, company name and sector, and search results, and it is stored on your device only, so the app can show figures without asking again. Cloudflare runs the network the relay uses and may keep its own logs under its terms. Tiingo's servers may keep their own web logs of the relay's requests under their terms. Choosing Manual entry in Settings stops these requests, searches included; the app then makes none for market data.
Purchases
Apple processes payment. A purchase receipt and an anonymous app-user identifier are sent to Apple and to RevenueCat to confirm Pro. RevenueCat keeps that purchase record, under the anonymous identifier, for as long as it is needed to confirm Pro, and under its own terms. RevenueCat never receives your holdings.
Report an issue
Report an issue, in Settings, writes an email for you to send from your own Mail app to the developer's support address. You see every word in the mail composer before it goes, and nothing is sent unless you send it. The subject holds the app version and build and the kind of issue you chose. The message holds what you wrote, the screen you reported from, and, unless you turn off Include device details, the app version and build, the iOS version, the device model, and whether you use Free or Pro. Nothing about your holdings is added; do not add account numbers or passwords yourself. If Mail is not set up, you can copy the report and send it yourself. The developer receives the email, with your email address, and uses it to answer you and to fix the problem.
What stays on your device
Holdings, transactions, cost basis, dividends you record, your watchlist and Plan inputs, imported CSV data, fetched market data, and settings, in an iOS data-protected store. Your iCloud or computer backup includes this store if you back up your device. PayoutRange does not sync between devices.
Files you import or export
CSV files are read and written on your device only. Exported files contain your holdings, cost basis, transactions, and dividends received; store and share them with the same care as a brokerage statement. Screenshots you import are read on your device, by Apple's on-device text recognition and, where Apple Intelligence is turned on, Apple's on-device language model, and are not stored by PayoutRange. The picture is never sent; only a company name read from it may be, as described under Market data.
What not to enter
PayoutRange needs only the figures it asks for, such as ticker symbols, share counts, cost, prices, and dividends, and, for the Plan, your ages, spending, and income, and the balances and contributions of any other accounts you add. It never asks for account numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers, or brokerage credentials.
Children
PayoutRange is rated 18+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Age range
Where a state law requires it, PayoutRange asks Apple for your age range when the app opens, using Apple's Declared Age Range feature; Apple decides what to share and may ask you first. PayoutRange uses the answer only to meet that law, does not store it, and never sends or shares it.
Tracking and Do Not Track
PayoutRange does not track you across other apps or websites, and no third party collects information about your activity across apps or websites through it. Because there is no such tracking, the app takes no action on Do Not Track signals.
Your choices
Delete the app, or open Settings and choose Delete all data, to remove everything from the device. Apart from any report you emailed, and the anonymous purchase record described under Purchases, the developer holds no data about you, so there is nothing further to access, correct, or delete. To have a report you sent, or the purchase record, deleted, ask at the support address.
Changes and contact
The current policy is shown here and at the privacy link in the App Store. Material changes are announced in release notes. Questions, and requests about a report you sent or the purchase record, go to the developer at the support address on the PayoutRange support page and in the App Store listing.
